Keeping a log

Part of this blog is to keep a log of the hours I put into studying English in the next few months. The ALMS-course I'm taking requires me to work individually for at least 71 hours. In my next post I will write more about my specific learning goals for this course and plans on how to reach those goals. But for now, in my first post, I shall just be tedious and list what I've done today.

Log:
Time spent studying/improving my English: 2hrs
How/what: Working at Helsinki City Infomation office, I adviced several tourists on how to use the computers in our lobby. One of them had very specific questions about town planning in Helsinki and I managed to find some brochures for them to read. Eventually I refered them to the City Planning Department, which is luckily one of the departments I know the English translation to. I paid particular attention to speaking clearly since none of today's visitors were native English speakers.
I then spent an hour putting up this blog and writing the first posts.
